Welcome to our Second Amendment page

The Second Amendment “A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed” was ratified to be effective on the following date – December 15, 1791.

Our elected politicians take the following oath when sworn into office: “I, ( name), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” Reading the Second Amendment and the oath to office, how is it that many of them are voting for anti-gun issues?

The citizens of the United States have the right to bear arms, yet there are many laws that only harm honest citizens.  As well-known criminals, crooks, outlaws, etc. will not follow these laws, they steal or get these firearms any way they can.  Remember that the next time you vote!

GUN OR WEAPON?

There is a problem in America today with too many of our citizens not understanding what a gun and/or weapon is and how safe it can be, if handled properly. They see Hollywood portraying these guns as killing machines, which is not true, yes, a gun in the hands of an unstable person can harm people. The actors and media have no idea how to handle a gun safely. This paints guns as being evil and results in many individuals being anti-gun, just because they do not understand what is considered a gun or a weapon.

  • Gun: Portable firearm, such as a rifle, shotgun, or revolver, in which projectiles are shot by the force of an explosive; a piece of ordnance.
  • Weapon: Designed or used for inflicting bodily harm or physical damage, or a means of gaining an advantage or defending oneself in a conflict or contest. (This could be anything, rock, sword, rifle, cannon, ball-bat, knife, fork, etc…) anything used against an opponent, adversary, or victim.

Unified Sportsmen of PA is a Sportsmen organization, mostly made up of members that are hunters, fishermen, conservationists, etc… It is all of our responsibility to educate our citizens about the 2nd Amendment.
